BonMotsandProse Publishing was started in 2012 by author and editor, Pat Concodora, as a way to help other writers realize their publishing goals. She works with both individual writers as well as businesses in need of either content management or editing services. Although her business is located in the greater Richmond, Virginia area, her clients extend throughout the United States.
Pat is a wordsmith. As both a writer and voracious reader, she loves the skillful combination of juicy words into well-crafted sentences. Her passion is all about writing and editing compelling fiction and non-fiction books, and articles that make the world a better place. She enjoys helping other writers, especially those considering self-publishing, to do the same by providing strategic advice to people who may or may not be experienced writers. She is their second set of eyes.
Do you have a fiction or nonfiction manuscript that needs editing? Do you want to write a book but have no idea where to begin? Has your manuscript been rejected by an agent and you want to know how to fix it? Do you need someone to critique your manuscript before editing? (She does not work with all fiction genres, so please query with the details first.) Do you know how to construct a good story arc, create interesting characters, write good dialogue, or create action and suspense? Do your scenes work? Her inspirational suggestions can help you improve your writing style and polish your manuscript. Her goal is your success.
Good communication skills are also critical in business. Suppose you received a letter requesting your presence at a meeting, and the person who typed it had the wrong day of the week associated with that date? What if you showed up on the wrong day and missed the meeting? The content for your company website and brochures is another area where proofreading is important. Typos, misused words, poor punctuation, and run-on sentences are just a few of the mistakes that can create a bad impression of your business. It says the source of the communication didn’t make the effort to proofread the material before it went out. Proper writing and editing comes even before the final proofreading stage. At Bon Mots and Prose Publishing, your business communications will reflect the quality your clients deserve to read.
Pat received a B.A. from Caldwell University, and both a B.F.A. and an M.F.A. from Virginia Commonwealth University. She has over twenty five years of writing and editing experience in a variety of genres including non-fiction, fiction, memoir, blogs, and writing for trade publications. When people ask her what her brand is she replies, “I love what I do and I’m good at it too.” She is a published author of mystery thrillers writing under the pen name P.J. Woods.
